Movement & Rhythm
One of my lesson's for Digital media was about movement and rhythm. Rhythm is a pattern that is being repeated.
For example: -/-//-/-//-/
In the lecture we had looked at a painting by (Duchamp, 1913) to show movement of a person on staircase. This is similar to the movement of a gymnast. This is because when a gymnast is on the the bars, they start of slow and ad they end very fast. Which is due to gravity.
Patterns:
We also discussed patterns in our lesson. Patterns are used in design, in random or planned repetitions. In This helps to create visual excitement. This is because it makes the viewers want to engage and want to interact with the art work more
I had incorporated a pattern in the tour poster. On the top and the bottom I had put the bright colours of the French flag red, white and blue. This is because the tour will be taking place in France. The rest of the poster, the middle, is black and white. This means that the flag will grab the publics attention.
Unity:
Lastly, we discussed unity. This means that everything in design must go well together and compliment the end product.
For example using the same size typography. This lesson had helped me with my poster design task as it made me think where I wanted to place my writing and images on the poster. I had also used the same writing font all through out my poster. This is because if I used different writing fonts in poster it could look very messy and deter the public from reading the information that is on the poster.
