Kingston town centre advert

At the start of the advert it 0.00
seconds to 0.15 seconds there is a voice which is advertising why you should
visit Kingston town centre. The lady talks about the different attractions that
the town centre has to offer the general public such as the Bentals centre,
there are parks which people can visit that are near the town centre and there
is the Kingston bridge which overlooks the River Thames.
All throughout the advert there is
jazz music which calm and soothing. This reflects the town centre as it is very
calm and it is not as chaotic and busy as other places in London and this can
have a calming effect on the visitors who visit the town centre.
Towards the end of the advert at 0.22
seconds to 0.26 seconds, there is a voice of a girl who is asking her mum if
she can go to Kingston town centre and the mother replies ‘Yes’. After the
girls mum replies ‘Yes’ I had filmed the sound my front door shutting so the next audio track after that is the
sound of the front door shutting. The sound of the door shutting is to how that
the mother and her daughter are leaving their house to go and visit Kingston.
It also shows the little girls excitement
to go and visit the town centre at the end of the advert as the little girl
could not wait to explore Kingston and their town centre. (Morrison 1971) says, ' Whoever controls the media controls the mind'. This links to this piece of work as the girl who watched the Kingston advert and it made her want to vist
